ABOUT AMY WADE

Before Oklahoma, there was a lot of sky.

Life shaped by flying, homebuilding, and more than two decades in real estate.

Best Careers Take a Scenic Route

Amy grew up in Iowa City and studied at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. Aviation came naturally. She became a flight instructor, flew cargo throughout the Southeast, and later returned to the cockpit as a First Officer for American Airlines.

Real estate entered the picture in 2002, when Amy earned her license in Savannah. What followed was a long stretch inside residential homebuilding across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, including 17 years with national builders.

That time gave her a view of the business few agents ever get to see from the inside: how homes are presented, how builders think, how buyers respond, and how much can sit behind what looks like a simple choice on paper.
Then life moved again.

Amy returned to aviation, met her husband Jay, and eventually made Oklahoma home in 2019. By then, she had spent years changing cities, changing roles, and beginning again in places that were once unfamiliar.

Real estate brought all of those years back together.

Today, Amy works with buyers and sellers throughout Edmond and the greater Oklahoma City area, with a particular understanding of new construction and relocation. The work is different now, but some things have stayed remarkably consistent: preparation, candor, gratitude, and the attention given to the person sitting across from her.

Home Based in Edmond, Working Across OKC Area

She serves buyers and sellers across Edmond, Oklahoma City, Arcadia, Blanchard, Guthrie, Jones, Norman, and Yukon, helping clients compare not only homes, but the communities surrounding them.

"

“Amy brought a level of experience to our new-construction purchase that made a real difference. She knew which questions to ask, where to look more closely, and how to explain things without making the process feel overwhelming. We felt well represented from the first showing through closing.”

"

“We were moving to Oklahoma from out of state and had no real sense of which areas would suit us. Amy never rushed the process. She helped us understand the differences between neighborhoods, what to look for in each home, and what was worth asking about. By the time we bought, we felt like we knew exactly why we were choosing it.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What does builder-side experience actually change for me?
Three things. I know which incentives are real and which are repackaged, because I used to package them. I know what upgrades cost the builder rather than what they cost you. And I know how a builder’s calendar changes their flexibility, which is worth more than any negotiating tactic. The person in the model home works for the builder. I used to be that person.
If I am buying new construction, do I even need an agent?
The builder pays the commission whether you bring representation or not. The price does not drop because you came alone. What changes is who is reading your contract, who is watching the build, and who is negotiating the incentive package.
Do you work with buyers who are still out of state?
Most of my business is exactly that. Texas, California, and Colorado send the most people into Oklahoma, and a good share of my clients are three to six months out when they first call me. Early is the right time.
Can I buy a house here before I visit?
Yes, and roughly one in five relocating buyers nationally does. It works when it is structured. Live walkthroughs, an inspector who reports to you, wire-fraud protection on your earnest money, and a due-diligence window long enough that you can see the house in person and still walk away.
Are you the one who answers the phone?
Yes. I have a team supporting the marketing and the back end, and I handle the calls and the clients myself.
How long have you been doing this?
Licensed since 2002. Seventeen of those years were spent working for homebuilders. I have been representing buyers and sellers in the Oklahoma market since 2019.
Do you list houses too?
Yes, and I am doing more of it. If you want to see what that looks like before you talk to anyone, the marketing plan is written out in detail on the seller page.
What if I am just gathering information?
Then call now rather than later. A fifteen-minute conversation eight months out is more useful to you than a rushed one three weeks before your move.
